Charles H. Hoffmeister, 90, Topeka, passed away Sunday evening, January 26, 2020 at Brewster Place Rehab in Topeka, Kansas.

Chuck was born June 9, 1929 in Chickashaw, Oklahoma the son of Harry C. and Juanita L. Hoffmeister. Chuck married Donna G. Brown on October 22, 1950, enjoying over 67 years together.

Chuck worked for Peacocks Carpet, was self-employed at his own business – Hoffmeister Carpet Cleaning and Fire Restoration for 35 years, then retired from the Kansas Masonic Grand Lodge in June of 2019 after 46 years.

He was a very active man all his life. He was a Scout Master, Boy Scout Leader, Order of the Arrow, Cub Master, Institution Representative, Chairman of Grade School Carnivals, and Past President of the PTA. He belonged to Masonic Lodge 17, Masonic KCCH, Blue Lodge, York Rite Scottish Rite, Shrine, Beulah Chapter #34 O.E.S., a worthy Patron of four times, and Social Order of the Beauceant Assembly No. 24. Chuck was also very active in Jobs Daughters Bethel 57, Advisor to DeMolays and Chapter Dad.

Chuck and Donna were avid campers and belonged to the Topeka Camping Club.
For over 50 years Chuck was a member of the Highland Park United Methodist Church, then after his wife Donna passed away two years ago, he found peace and comfort with the wonderful people and pastor at the Second Presbyterian Church and became an active member there, becoming a Trustee of the church.

Survivors include his daughter, Rebecca (Bruce) Tomlinson; son, Richard (Coleen) Hoffmeister; grandchildren, Raina “Charlie” Tomlinson, Jamie (Tori) Tomlinson and great-grandsons, Declan and Hagen Tomlinson; grandson, Matthew (Lucy) Tomlinson and great-granddaughter, Emma Tomlinson.

Funeral services will be at 11:00AM Friday, January 31, 2020 at Parker-Price Funeral Home, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka. Funeral services will be followed by Easter Star Services conducted by Beulah Chapter #34. O.E.S. and Masonic Services will take place at graveside at the Topeka Cemetery, 1601 SE 10th Ave., Topeka. Reverend Teresa Ingle will officiate.

Chuck will lie in state on Thursday, January 30, 2020 from 10:00AM - 4:00PM at Parker-Price Funeral Home. A visitation will be held the hour prior to the funeral service at 10:00AM on Friday, January 31, 2020.
