He was born April 6, 1939, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Roy and Willa (Miller) Meacham. He graduated from Seaman High School. Dennis was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Dennis owned and operated Meacham's Grocery Stores in Topeka.
Dennis was a member of the Arab Shrine, Moose Lodge, V.F.W. and Topeka Trials Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Kimberly Meacham, Meriden and Melinda "Mindy" Meacham, Topeka; one grandson, Hunter Cole Meacham Christenson; step-son, Todd Warner and plenty of "extra" kids.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Janice Spitzer.
Dennis enjoyed his animals, so much so, that his home could be considered Denny's Ark instead of Noah's Ark. He also enjoyed being outside in nature and working in his yard and garden.
A memorial ceremony will be held at 10 am, Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Parker-Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 245 N.W. Independence Avenue, Topeka. A reception will follow the service at Parker-Price Reception Center. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
