OBITUARY: Winifred Conger
Winifred Conger, 84, Rossville, died Sun., March 30, 2008, at St. Marys Manor. She was born July 27, 1923, at Colony, the daughter of Thomas and Fannie (Blandford) Buckle.
Winifred had lived in Topeka most of her life before moving to Rossville. She had been a seamstress in the Highland Park community for many years.
She was married to Loyd W. Conger, who preceded her in death on April 30, 1989. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Teri Ann Douglas, in Oct., 1998.
Surviving are 2 daughters Betty Weidner (Richard) of Topeka, and Peggy Baird (Vernon) of Rossville; 2 sons: Loyd Conger (Millie) of Tecumseh, and Michael Conger of Topeka; a brother: Jim Buckle of Topeka; a sister: Ivy Lankton of Kingman; 5 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Tues., April 1, 2008, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka. Interment in Rossville Cemetery. Winifred will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Mon., at the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to TARC, 2701 SW Randolph Ave. Topeka, KS 66611.
