Wilma "Jeanie" McDonald, 78, Topeka, died Saturday, July 7, 2007 at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 16, 1929 in Topeka, the daughter of Roy and Lois Edwards Hammond.
She married Eugene McDonald on Feb. 16, 1946 in Rossville. He survives.
Other survivors include four sons, Rick McDonald and wife, Ramona of Tecumseh, Lloyd McDonald and wife, Kim of Topeka, Ken McDonald and wife, Linda of Topeka, and Tom McDonald and wife, Margaret of Berryton; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Hammond of Tucker, TX and L. Chuck Hammond of Bogata, TX; one sister, Della Siems of Homewood, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, DeDe Hanneman and three brothers, LeRoy Hammond, Darwin Hammond, and Bill Hammond.
Jeanie was the mother of "Wagon Masters" and Southbound" country bands.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel. Interment will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.
Mrs. McDonald will lie in state after noon Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m.
