Wilma E. Hart, 80, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009.
She was born Aug. 13, 1928 in Lawrence, KS, the daughter of Wilhelm and Lydia (Stehwien) Gantz. She was a graduate of Perry Rural High School in 1946.
Mrs. Hart retired from the Support Personnel Office in the Adjutant General's Department. She was a member of Tecumseh United Methodist Church.
Wilma married Clarence Hart on May 10, 1947. He preceded her in death on March 8, 2005. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sarah Hart Blessing, May 7, 1992 and two sisters, Helen Lines and Loraine Coon. Survivors include a daughter, Shelli Reid (Dan) of Tecumseh; a son, Stanley Hart (Laura) of Carbondale; a sister, Elaine Worthington (Eldon) of Perry, KS; and four grandchildren, Joshua and Jesse Reid, Courtney and Dakota Hart.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Thurs., Feb. 26, 2009 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka. Private inurnment of the cremains will be at Zion Cemetery. Mrs. Hart will lie instate after 3 p.m., Wed. at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Wed. evening.
