Wilma A. Kneale
Wilma A. Kneale, 80, Topeka, died Friday, Oct. 1, 2004 at a Topeka nursing home. She was born Dec. 10, 1923, in Carbondale, the daughter of Leonard and Eva Herold Vawter. She has lived in Carbondale and Pauline communities most of her life. She attended Fountain Ridge School and graduated from Carbondale High School. She worked for the Santa Fe Railway for seven years. After leaving Sante Fe she was a farm wife and homemaker. Mrs. Kneale did volunteer work for multiple sclerosis (MS), in which she called new patients to encourage attending support group meetings. A lot of her craft work proceeds were donated to the MS Society. She was a member of the Sante Fe Old Timers Club. She married Walter Richard Kneale on Jan. 20, 1946, in Topeka. He died April 6, 1997. She is survived by a son, William R. Kneale, Wakarusa; two brothers Harold E. Vawter, Topeka, and Robert Dale Vawter, Carbondale; and one step granddaughter. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday& nbsp; at Mount Hope Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel.
