William George "Bill" Stringer, Jr.
William George "Bill" Stringer, Jr., 73, Silver Lake, KS, died Tuesday, January 12, 2016, at his home. He was born September 29, 1942, in Battle Creek, MI, the son of Frances Ann (MacKinder) and William George Stringer, Sr.
Bill graduated from Central High School in Battle Creek and Washburn University in Topeka. He served in the U.S. Army. He retired from Heinz Pet Foods in 2001.
He was married to Carla Kay Gallihugh on August 24, 1963, in Battle Creek.
Surviving are his wife: Carla Kay Stringer of the home; a daughter: Kimberly Roberson of Topeka; a son: Scott Stringer (Linda) of Topeka; a sister: Pat Benwire of Battle Creek; a sister-in-law: Joan Stringer of Battle Creek; three grandchildren: Austin Roberson, Eric Roberson, and Valerie Elazegui (Victor); and a great-granddaughter: Evelynn Grace Elazegui. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Lynn Stringer; his parents; and a brother, James Stringer.
Memorial visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:30 PM, Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka. Interment of cremains will be in Battle Creek Memorial Park, Battle Creek, MI.
