William Bob V. Dick, Sr. 91, Topeka died Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at Plaza West Regional Health Center. He was born March 28, 1914 in Osage City, KS the son of Isaiah and Maude Oswald Dick.
Bob was a Army veteran serving in the South Pacific Campaign during WW II.
Mr. Dick and his wife owned and operated Bob's Tavern several years. He retired from the City of Topeka in 1976.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He married Pearl I. Miller, January 24, 1949 in Holton, KS. She preceded him in death June 19, 1987. He was also preceded in death by a daughter Norma Brown February 27, 1995 and 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Survivors: a son William V. Dick, Jr., Garnett, KS; a daughter Betty Downs, Topeka; sister, Grace Artzer, Topeka; 3 grandchildren 7step grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and several step great grandchidlren.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 2, 2005 at the Garden Chapel at Topeka Cemetery.
Bob will lie in state after 3:00 p.m., Friday April 1, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Friday.
