Wilda Gayle (Anderson) McKee, 89, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2020.
She was born October 1, 1931, in Republic County, Kansas, the daughter of William Henry Anderson and Agnes Viola (Anderson) Anderson. She received her Master's Degree in Science from Kansas State University.
In her younger years, she was an avid camper. At the age of 19 she began teaching in the public school system. Her final teaching job was as a Special Education Teacher for Royal Valley School District.
She loved to crochet, cross-stitch, cross word puzzles, and reading. Above all else, she loved her family and enjoyed her time with them prior to returning to teach in the late 1970's. She also loved to get together with family during the holidays and special occasions, such as family reunions.
Wilda married Roland Lee McKee on June 7, 1964 in Agenda, Kansas, he survives. Other survivors include her children, Beth (Duane) Gochoel, Dayna (Craig) Hauschild, and Stephen (Carol) McKee; brother, Warren Anderson; sister, Faye Hagan; grandchildren, Olivia Gochoel, Abigail Gochoel, Jessica Hauschild, Nathan Hauschild, and Zachary McKee and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Phyllis Havel, and Ethelyn Lambott and her infant twin siblings.
Wilda will lie in state on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Parker-Price, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka from 12:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. where the family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
A Private Service will take place for family and close friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice.
