Wilbur T. Marn, 85, of Tecumseh, passed away Friday, October 26, 2012.
He was born April 15, 1927 in Warsaw, MO, the son of Truman and Goldie (Stratton) Marn. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II.
Mr. Marn was employed by USD 501 for 42 years.
He was a member of Tecumseh United Methodist Church.
Wilbur married Ella Joan Owen on August 29, 1946 in Ottawa, KS. She preceded him in death on July 17, 1999. Survivors include three children, Tana (Barry) Blankenbeker, Topeka, Ella Jane Monreal, Colorado and Verna Myer, Topeka; 5 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charles Marn of Marshall, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Howard and Harry Marn and three sisters, Betty Thompson, Sara Custer and Helen Nusbaum.
A private burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Topeka. Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel in Topeka is assisting the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society or Jayhawk Area Agency on Aging for the Guardian Angel Fund.
