OBITUARY: Wilbert Francis "Bud" Roberts
Wilbert Francis "Bud" Roberts, 76, of Perry, died Sat., July 3, 2010, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born June 15, 1934, in Fall Leaf, the son of Wilbert W. and Sophia (Bryant) Roberts. He was a 40 year member of Union Local 101. He worked for MRS Construction, Hamm's, and Herrman's. He was a member of the Red Dale Camping Club. He married Lela Stewart on March 25, 1955, at his parents home in Newman. She survives. Also surviving are a daughter: Tina Marie Bailey (James); sons: Randy Roberts (Cindy) and Will Roberts (Ann); 10 grandkids; 11 great-grandkids; 3 sisters: Mary Quigley, Bonnie Greene (Virgil), Junadel Pemberton (Doyle); and a brother-in-law: Charles Coon. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, 2 daughters, son-in-law, and 3 grandkids. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Thurs., July 8, 2010, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka. Interment in Mt Calvary-Rose Hill Cemetery, Newman. Bud will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Wed., at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.
