Welton Stolte
Welton G. Stolte, 78, Topeka, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, at a Lawrence hospital.
He was born Sept. 27, 1924, in Topeka, to Welton Henry and Pauline Jacobs Stolte, and attended public schools in Topeka. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad. He was employed by Santa Fe Railway for 30 years and was a material supervisor before he retired in 1979.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He married Bernice S. Kammer on April 28, 1945, in Topeka. She died Dec. 28, 1982. A granddaughter, Wendy Dechand, died April 11, 1969.
Survivors include two daughters, Teresa Covert and Fran Sibley, both of Topeka; a brother, Bill Stolte, Topeka; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Stolte was cremated. Services will be private.
