Wayne L. Boline, Sr., 78, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2009 at his home.
He was born January 12, 1931 in Harveyville, KS, the son of Vern and Alta (Calhoun) Boline. He was a 1948 graduate of Miller High School. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War.
He was employed by Ryder Truck Rental of Topeka. He was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church, V.F.W. Philip Billard Post No. 1650, American Legion Capitol Post No. 1. and Orient Masonic Lodge No. 51.
Wayne married Katherine Taylor on July 28, 1950 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Wayne L. Boline, Jr. and his wife, Delia, of Baldwin City KS, and Ronald Boline and his wife, Patty, of Olathe, KS; a brother, Leonard Boline of Gardner; a sister, Joan Letellier of Kansas City, KS; three grandchildren, Joshua, Janice and Brad Boline; and three great-grandchildren, Danielle, Adasia and Amaia.
Graveside services with military honors will be 10 a.m., Monday, September 14, 2009 at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Topeka. Mr. Boline will lie in state after 2 p.m., Sunday at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 3-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of Kansas, 2900 SW Oakley Ave # H, Topeka, KS 66614-2600.
