Wayne L. Boline, Jr., 71, of Baldwin City, Kansas passed away on May 15, 2024 at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City. He was born May 10, 1953 in Topeka the son of Wayne L. Boline, Sr. and Katherine Taylor Boline. He was raised in the Oakland neighborhood and attended Highland Park High School. Wayne joined the United States Navy and served on board the USS Okinawa as a Fireman First Class. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Wayne was awarded a unit citation for his service during Operation Frequent Wind (The evacuation of South Vietnam) and Operation Eagle Pull. Wayne was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1975.

He came home to Topeka and worked at Goodyear for several years. He began his career with KPL, later Westar and Evergy. He worked at the energy center in Lawrence for 35 years prior to retiring in 2015. He received a 30 year Safety Achievement Award. He retired as Foreman on a fuel loading crew.

Wayne was married to Delia P. Gipaya at the Oakland United Methodist Church in 1978. They moved to Lawrence in 1980 and lived there until 1998 when they moved to Baldwin City.

He enjoyed his home at Baldwin, especially mowing and taking care of his land.
Wayne enjoyed guns, hunting and fishing. Wayne was a lifetime member of Philip Billard Post #1650 of the V.F.W. and the American Legion Post #58 in Lawrence.

He is survived by his wife Delia Boline of Baldwin City; son, Joshua Boline and wife Rebekah of Baldwin City; grandchildren, Danielle Mills and husband Dustin of Lawrence and their daughter Lily, Adasia Boline of Centropolis, Kansas and Amaia Boline of Baldwin City; Ja’Kobe Warren and Jordan Warren of Lawrence; great granddaughter Lily Mills of Lawrence; brother, Ron Boline and wife Patty of Olathe; nephew Bradley Boline and Crystal of Olathe and their daughter, Millie; his aunt, Ethel Lott and uncle Charlie of Waco, Texas and cousin Connie Tynes and her daughters Cassie Tynes and Carrie Hudson all of Waco, Texas.

Wayne was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Boline in 2014 and his parents.

The family will receive friends from 9-11 am on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at the Parker-Price & Davidson Funeral Home in Topeka. Following the visitation, a graveside service with military honors will be conducted at Memorial Park Cemetery, Topeka beginning at 11:30 am.
