Wayne Russell Banks
Wayne Russell Banks, 72, of Tecumseh, passed to join his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 7, at home. He was born May 12, 1933, in Stockton, Ks, the son of John L. Banks and Ester S. Lambert Banks. He Married Frances L. Diehl on August 11, 1951. He served in the US Navy on the USS Bataan and USS Essex during the Korean War. He was employed at Sunbeam Bakery, U.S.D. 501, and Eastboro Pharmacy. He will join his daughter, Teresa E. Zeller in Heaven along with three grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Frances Banks, Tecumseh; two sons, Timothy Banks, Springfield Mo and Randy Banks, Hoyt Ks; one daughter, Kathy Kroenke, Tecumseh; and fourteen grandchildren and eleven Great Grandchildren. Mr. Banks was a life time member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans and the Capital City Rabbit Club. He helped many 4H children with their Rabbit projects. Mr. Banks will lie in state after 3:00 p.m., Friday June 10, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel in North Topeka. Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, June 10 at the funeral home. Services will be held Saturday, June 11, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel. A U.S. Navy Honor Guard will conduct military honors at West Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tecumseh Kiwanis Triangle Project, PO Box 1, Tecumseh KS 66542.
