Wanda L. Howland, 75, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2009 at her home after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born April 19, 1934 in Clay Center, KS, the daughter of Lloyd H. and Eva Mae (Bowlby) Baldwin. She was a 1952 graduate of Morganville High School, Morganville, KS.
Wanda married Henry Howland, Jr., on December 11, 1954 in Topeka. He survives of the home. Other survivors include three children, Ricky L. Howland, of Alma, KS, Marcia L. Sharry (Jim) of Moore, OK, and Tamara L. Russell (Brian) of Topeka; her brother, Lloyd Duane Baldwin of Jet, OK; her sister, Wilma Kern of Topeka; two grandson, Robert Sharry, Michael Sharry; a step-grandson, Lukas Russell; two great-granddaughters, Kyla Sharry and Lauren Sharry; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Howland was employed by Bell Telephone and Palmer News, Topeka. Her and her husband owned and operated A-1 Septic Tank Cleaning, Topeka from 1973 to 2007.
Wanda enjoyed quilting, sewing and spending time with her family.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka. Interment will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery, Topeka.
