OBITUARY: Walter Allen Viergever
Walter Allen Viergever, 90, Valencia, passed away Fri., July 8, 2011, at his home. He was born April 22, 1921, at Valencia, the youngest of 7 children born to Daniel and Anna (Rotman) Viergever. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, and 3 brothers. Walter graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1939. Walter was a farmer all of his life, and raised Angus cattle. He loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed his dogs. He was born and lived at the same location until he married. Walter married Jean Ekart Jeffries on Aug. 10, 1994, at Miami, OK. She survives of the home. He is also survived by one step-daughter: Betty Badura (Henry) of Rossville; 2 step-grandchildren: Bill Badura and Suzette Smith; 5 step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Tues., July 12, 2011, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka. Interment in Dover Cemetery. Walter will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Mon., at the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
