Voyd Dwane Griffith
Voyd Dwane Griffith, 83, Tecumseh, died Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at Stormont-Vail Hospital. He was born March 1, 1933, at Redding, the son of Arthur Raymond and Florence Augusta (Milbradt) Griffith.
Voyd retired from the Santa Fe Railway.
Surviving are fifteen children: Calvin (Beth) Griffith of Atlantic Beach, FL, Terry (Chick) Griffith of Topeka, Charles (Rebecca) Griffith of Lyndon, Jim Griffith of Vassar, Kathryn (Aaron) McMichael of Emporia, John (Teri) Griffith of Topeka, Nancy (Richard) Cooley of Topeka, Vance (Terri) Cain of Independence, Karen (John) Pickett of Burlingame, Sheryl Hogan of Topeka, Yvonne Alexander of Tecumseh, Bobby (Linda) Ferguson of Orange, VA, Mary (Dan) Seyer of Shelbyville, IN, Lynn Crow of Topeka, and Jim (Kathy) Ferguson of Paola; two sisters: Agnes (Don) Thompson of Topeka, and Thelma (Roy) Tichenor of Topeka; 42 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Voyd was preceded in death by three wives: Barbara Anne, Ruth Clara, and Janice Marie; his parents; two sons: Robert Cain and Thomas Ferguson; granddaughter: Dorie Hogan; two sisters: Marie Fidler and Ethel Snickles; and two brothers: Marion and Dale Griffith.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, April 11, 2016, at Central Church of Christ, 1250 SW College Avenue, Topeka. Interment will be in Prairie Home Cemetery, NW 35th & Menoken Road, Topeka.
Voyd will lie in state after 2:00 PM, Sunday, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, where the family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 PM.
