OBITUARY: Virginia "Sue" (Cummings) Franklin
Virginia "Sue" (Cummings) Franklin, 56, Rossville, died Tues., Jan. 20, 2009, at the KU Medical Center. She was born Dec. 31, 1952, in Topeka, the daughter of Cornelius D. and Lorraine G. (Lee) Cummings. She graduated from Rossville High School. Sue loved her family, and she will be missed. Surviving are her mother: Lorraine Cummings of Topeka; 2 sons: John Franklin, Jr. of Topeka and Shane Franklin of Rossville; 5 siblings: Mike Cummings of Willard, Sallie Kelley of Rossville, Ellen McFarland of Carbondale, Alice Adrick of Topeka, and Amy Cummings of Topeka; 12 nieces and nephews; and 14 great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Cornelius D. Cummings, on Dec. 12, 1995; and a brother, Mark Cummings, on Sept. 3, 1993. A visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:30 PM, and Rosary at 7:45 PM, on Sat. Jan. 31, 2009, at St. Stanislalus Catholic Church, Rossville. Cremation committal services will be at 11:00 AM, Mon., Feb. 2, 2009, at Prairie Home Cemetery, NW 35th & Menoken Road, Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society, 2625 NW Rochester Road, Topeka, KS 66617.
