Virginia Ann Kennedy

Virginia “Ginny” Ann Kennedy, age 89, of Topeka, passed away Sunday morning, September 13, 2020 at Aldersgate Village in Topeka.  Ginny was born September 23, 1930 in Topeka the daughter of Halsey and Viola (Kamisky) Ransom.  She grew up in Topeka, graduating from Topeka High School in 1948.  She married Robert L. Kennedy October 1, 1949 in Topeka.  He preceded her in death September 26, 1997.  Ginny was a past member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a current member of the Assumption Catholic Church in Topeka.  Ginny was preceded in death by a son, Robert L. Kennedy Jr. on April 28, 2015.  She is survived by four sons, Mark (Amy) Kennedy of Hoyt, Kevin (Martha) Kennedy of Lenexa, Carl Kennedy of Atlanta and Christopher (Anita) Kennedy of Shawnee; two daughters, Mary (Steve Kapp) Kennedy of Little Rock, AR and Patricia (Scott) Gatzemeyer of Ft. Worth, TX; a daughter-in-law, Gail Kennedy of Topeka; a sister, Vivian Hulsopple of Beaumont, TX; 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be privately held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Private family interment will be at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Topeka. Memorial services for Ginny will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Topeka Rescue Mission or the Salvation Army and left in care of the Davidson Funeral Home.  davidsonfuneral.com
