Virginia Howell

Virginia Ann Howell, 87, of Topeka, passed away Friday, June 27, 2008 at Lexington Park Nursing Center.
She was born September 11, 1920 in Blue Rapids, Kansas, the daughter of Frederick Robert and Helen Marie (Bright) Hunt. She was a graduate of Seaman High School in 1938.
Virginia assisted her husband, Dr. Leland A. Howell in his veterinarian practice in Topeka. He preceded her in death. A son, George Henry "Jerry" Skinner also preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughter, Beverly Hammond, and her husband, Paul of Topeka; a daughter-in-law, Linda Skinner of Wichita and life long friend, Marilyn Malson and her husband, Jim of Ottawa; 3 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at Abbey Chapel at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Howell will lie in state after 3 p.m., Monday at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Heart of America Hospice, 3715 SW 29th St., Suite 20, Topeka, KS 66614.
