Virginia A. Fleenor, 78, of Topeka passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022.   She was born February 16, 1944 at her grandmother’s house in Burlingame, Kansas.   Virginia graduated from Topeka High School in the class of 1962.   She married John J. Fleenor on November 25, 1962.   Virginia was an office manager at an insurance company prior to helping on the business side of her families’ plumbing business for many years.   She was a member of the Board of Directors for TARC and volunteered many hours there.   She was a volunteer for the Special Olympics.   Virginia was a member of Beta Sigma Phi.  She also enjoyed bunco and all the girls in her group.  Virginia also had a group of high school friends who ate breakfast together weekly prior to the pandemic.   Virginia enjoyed the picnics and parties that were thrown by St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City for Heart Transplant Survivors.  Virginia was especially proud of being a 20 year heart transplant survivor herself.  Virginia would look forward each week in the fall to watching the Kansas City Chief games.   A great joy for her was the time she spent with her grandchildren.
