OBITUARY: Virgil B. "Rocky" Smith, Jr.
Virgil Bert "Rocky" Smith, Jr., 52, Topeka died Thurs., May 22, 2008, at a local hospital. He was born May 31, 1955, in El Paso, TX, the son of Alice M. (Beeghly) and Virgil B. Smith, Sr.
He has been a Topeka resident since 1973. Rocky was a laborer. He loved fishing and cars. He was loved and will be missed by family and friends.
Rocky was married to Merlene Gentry. She survives of the home. Also surviving are his mother: Alice Kinder of Topeka; and a brother: Eric Smith of Lawrence. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Judith Lynn White.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Virgil B. Smith, Jr. Memorial Fund, 2513 SW Moundview Dr., Topeka, KS 66614.
