Violet R. Moore, 82, of Tecumseh, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2020. She was born March 26, 1938 at Overbrook the daughter of Clarence O. and Frances Kraus Flanagan. Violet lived at Overbrook until moving to Topeka area after the sixth grade. Violet graduated from Highland Park High School with the class of 1956. She attended Topeka Bible Church since the sixth grade. She and Bill went on a blind date in December of 1952, been together ever since. They were married August 18, 1956 at Topeka Bible Church. Violet was a wonderful mom and wife. She was a great cook, made her girls dresses. She loved to travel. Bill and Violet drove their RV to Alaska. There were numerous trips to Canada to hunt, fish, swim and canoe. Closer to home, Violet enjoyed bowling, mostly at Meadow Lanes. She was league secretary for a while. She would go to bowling tournaments out of town. She enjoyed Christmastime, decorating inside and out of her home. Violet loved to go to her grandkids’ sporting events, which included high school wrestling and soccer. Violet was all about kids; she loved them whether they were related or not.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Moore of Tecumseh; children, Vickie L. Meck and husband Dick of Tecumseh, Tamie J. Waterhouse and husband Jordan of Lowell, Arkansas and Kirk A. Moore of Tecumseh; grandchildren, Krista and husband Ryan Wood and daughter Meckenzie, Dustin and wife Elizabeth and son Colt, Rhylee Meck, Shannon Meck and Nicholas Meck, Joshua Waterhouse and his children, Mariah, Violet-Jean and Helen, Jeremy Waterhouse, wife Dianne and their children, Keough and Edynne, Isaac Waterhouse and wife Merikka and daughter Ava, William Waterhouse, Caleb Waterhouse and Stephen Waterhouse, Nicholas Moore and wife Heather and their children Treyton and Weston, Clayton Moore and wife Grace and son Harrison, Kayla and husband Chad Fay and their children, Olive, Ivey and Iris, Andrew Moore and wife Stefani and their children Paige and Dawson, Luke Moore and wife Erica and their children, Mackenzie and Makayla Wadsworth, Laekynn and Zane, Micah Moore and Noah Moore; her siblings, Cleta Hopkins and husband Don in Colorado, Shirley Fitzgerald and husband Jim Snyder of Lyndon, Kansas, Dennis Flanagan and wife Linda of Berryton and Gary Flanagan and wife Brenda of Topeka.
She was preceded in death by a sister Janice Dickinson and infant twin brother and sister, Jim and Judy.
A celebration of life for Violet will be held in the spring of 2021.
