Violet Faye Essman Hill

Violet Faye Essman Hill, age 89, formerly of Topeka, passed away Monday, April 23, 2018 at the Pleasant Valley Manor in Sedan, KS. Violet was born November 9, 1928 in Waldron, Arkansas the daughter of Russell and Eula Lewis Essman. She married Virgil Hill. He preceded her in death in 1975. Violet worked at the Palmer News in Topeka for many years. She had attended the Seaman Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Hill in 2017. She is survived by a son, Gary Daniel (Kathleen) Hill of Portland, Texas; a brother, Johnny (Carol) Essman of Topeka, Jim Essman of Sequin, TX and Philip (Ruth) Essman of California; a sister, Mary Sue Sandow of Myrtle Beach, SC and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday, April 27, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour before the services from 1:00- 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at the Grantville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Topeka Rescue Mission and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home.
