Viola Hansford

Viola Fern Hansford, 98, Silver Lake passed away, Saturday, March 12, 2005 at her home.

She was born May 2, 1906 in Lakin, KS.

She was a member of numerous clubs and organizations in the Shawnee County area. Viola volunteered her time at the Red Cross and Salvation Army for several years. She enjoyed spending time with friends at East Topeka Senior Center and Papan's Landing Senior Center.

She married Terry H. Hansford, in Aug. of 1923. He died in 1960.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, and sons, Richard Hansford, Clifford Hansford, Clarence Hansford, Harlan Hansford and her daughters, Ora Mae Bateman, and Mary Rinn.

Survivors include her son, Marvin G. Hansford, Silver Lake; daughter, Jean Rodenbeck, Salida, CO; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at Prairie Home Cemetery.

Mrs. Hansford will lie in state after 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 15,2 005 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel in North Topeka.
