OBITUARY: Mrs. Viola Faye "Vi" Wilson
Mrs. Viola Faye "Vi" Wilson, 74, Silver Lake, died Monday morning, Nov. 27, 2006, at her home. She was born Aug. 16, 1932, at Post, TX, the daughter of William A. and Nora E. (Roberts) Shinault. The family moved from Texas to Chandler, AZ.
Vi had worked at Macy's Wheat Room and then in zone accounting at Goodyear for 16 1/2 years before retiring. She had served on the Silver Lake City Council and Election Board. Vi was a member of the Silver Lake United Methodist Church, U.M.W. (past president), D.A.R., and Loyal Chapter # 176, O.E.S. (past matron).
She was married to Lewis "Andy" Anderson and they later divorced. Vi was married to Charles L. Wilson on Jan. 16, 1959, at Phoenix, AZ. He survives. She was preceded in death by a sister, Annis Clorene Mize, and a brother, James C. Shinault.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter: Terri Lynne Bahret of Silver Lake; 3 sons: Dwain C. Wilson of Silver Lake, Jim J. Wilson of Kearney, MO, and Lewis G. Anderson of Saucier, MS; 2 sisters: Edith Nichols of Lancaster, CA, and Florence Horton of Rolla, MO; 2 brothers: A.J. Shinault of Charleston, AR, and William Shinault of Orangevale, CA; 14 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thurs., Nov. 30, 2006, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 N.W. Independence, followed by Eastern Star Services conducted by Loyal Chapter # 176, Order of the Eastern Star. Interment will be in Silver Lake Cemetery.
Vi will lie in state after 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Loyal Chapter # 176, O.E.S., 518 Skylab Court, Silver Lake, KS 66539.
