Viola E. Edgeworth, age 88, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. Viola was born February 12, 1931 in Huntington Park, California the daughter of William and Alice (Casswell) Edgeworth. Viola graduated from high school in California where she was a member of the women’s roller derby team. She earned her LPN degree later in life. She worked for various care homes throughout Topeka. She married Keith Oliver, he preceded her in death. She later married Kyle Weir, he also preceded her in death. Viola enjoyed watching and cheering for the K.C. Chiefs.
Viola was preceded in death by four children, Steve Oliver, Wendy Oliver, Sheri Peterson-Oliver, Lana Weir-Farley; a granddaughter, Manda Finney; and a son-in-law, John VanSickle. She was also preceded in death by her dog, Precious, who she was very close with.
Viola is survived by three sons, Gregory (Julie) Oliver of Hoyt, John (Rhonda) Weir of Indian Springs, Nevada and James (Tasha Raine) Weir of Eskridge; two daughters, Lori VanSickle of Eskridge and Alicia Weir of Topeka; a brother, Jim Edgeworth of Topeka; a sister, Vivian Diamant of California; 17 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren and 21 great-great grandchildren.
