Victor Marion Saia, 91, Topeka, died Friday, Nov. 5, 2004 at a local hospital. He was born May 15, 1913 in Delia, KS the son of Joseph and Christena Kalcik Saia. He graduated from Delia High School. He was a member of the KBT (Kansas Builders Trade) Local #1445. He worked at Boeing in Wichita during World War II. He moved to Topeka in 1945. Victor enjoyed watching and participating in all of his families activities. He enjoyed watching the wonders of nature. Victor married Mary Alice Constant, April 22, 1937 in Oskaloosa, KS, she survives. Victor was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Banks. Other survivors include two sons, Victor L. Saia of Silver Lake; Ronald F. Saia of Richmond, KY; one daughter, Sandra J. Broaddus, San Diego, CA; brother, Joe Saia, Topeka; sister, Josephine Riley, Topeka; and 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Saia will lie in state after 3:00 p.m., Monday, Nov. 8, 2004 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be sent to the charity of donor's choice.
