Vicky Sue Bowers

Vicky Sue Bowers, 60, of Topeka, passed away on November 30, 2021 at Stormont Vail Hospital.

She was born on August 21, 1961 to Karen Silversmith in Topeka, KS. Vicky was raised by her grandparents, William "Bryan" and Margaret Guffey Silversmith.

Vicky graduated from Topeka High School in 1979. On January 12, 1980, she married Steven Bowers, Sr. in Topeka, Kansas.
She was a homemaker for the beginning of her life, taking care of her children. Later in life Vicky worked as a housekeeper for Countryside Health Center for over 25 years.

Vicky's whole life revolved around the race track, watching her husband and her sons pursue their love of dirt track racing. She loved to be around people and make any stranger her best friend. She was a generous soul with an ornery side and would go the extra mile to help anyone. Vicky loved to make her family feel special around any birthday, holiday, or special occasions. She also loved her animals, her dog Champ, and her grand "fur baby" Harley.

Vicky is survived by her children, Steven (Rhonda) Bowers, Jr., and Bryan (Ashley) Bowers; grandchild, Brinnley Bowers; siblings, Gerald "Porky" Pummill, "B.J." Shutts, and Bobby Shutts; father and mother-in-law, Paul and Delores Bowers; sisters-in-law, Susanne (Julian) Oliva, Jr. and Linda (David) Lucero and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Steven Bowers, Sr.; mother, Karen Silversmith; brother-in-law, Michael Bowers; and uncle, Jack (Delores) Silversmith.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 10, 2021, 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Parker-Price Funeral Home in Topeka.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021, 10:00 am at Parker Price Funeral Home. Graveside Service will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
