Vera R. Martinez

Vera R. Martinez, age 70, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at Midland Hospice.  Vera was born December 27, 1949 in Frankfort, Kansas the daughter of Andre and Viola Lester.  Vera married Richard Martinez, he survives.  Vera drove a school bus while she and Richard lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma and later for Topeka #501.  Vera was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Topeka.  She loved gardening, cooking, painting, crocheting and helping neighbors when she could.  She is survived by her husband, Richard and two sons, Rudolph and Ricardo Martinez, Jr., both of Topeka.  Vera loved her dogs, Pinto and Odie.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Dance Ground Cemetery, west of Mayetta.  She will lie in state for the public from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. Monday at the Davidson Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the First Southern Baptist Church and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home.  davidsonfuneral.com.
