Vera Ann Artzer, 85, of Topeka passed away on Wednesday, January 18th, 2023. She was born on July 7th, 1937 to Joseph Dee Essman & (Bessie) Elizabeth Lewis in the Jones Creek Community of Scott County, Arkansas. She attended a one room schoolhouse in Jones Creek and later attended Waldron High School in Waldron, AR. She was baptized in Jones Creek by The Jones Creek Baptist Church. Vera worked in the banking industry for many years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lee Artzer and siblings Allan Essman, Jim Essman, Gerald Essman & Paula Piles. Surviving Vera are her two daughters, Deborah Konrade(Dan) of Topeka, and Connie Lober of Topeka. Also surviving are two siblings, Marilyn Johnson of Blue Eye, MO and Dale Essman of Van Buren, Arkansas; five Grandchildren, Courtney Engel (Ryan) of Berryton; Victoria Kirchner(Matt) of Olathe; Whitney Laird(Jeff) of Liberty, MO; Drew Pollom, (Jodi) of Topeka; and Cameron Lober of Kansas City. Vera also leaves behind seven Great-Grandchildren, Sterling Engel, Roen Engel, Grayson Laird, Collins Laird, Kennedy Kirchner, Beckett Kirchner, & Eleanor Kirchner. A visitation will be held from 1-3pm at Davidson Funeral Home, 1035 N Kansas Avenue on Sunday, January 29th. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions can be made to The Helping Hands Humane Society.
