Velma Faye Werth

Velma Faye Werth, 90, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021.  She was born June 12, 1930 at Meriden, one of seven children born to Alfred and Laura Barney Vawter.  She graduated from Auburn High School in 1949.  Velma worked for over 20 years as an LPN at Stormont Vail Hospital.  She had been a member of Capital Post #1 of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her daughters, Joyce Manjarres in Montana and Stacy Werth-Clark of Topeka; one sister, Frances Mapes of Topeka; nine grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Velma was preceded in death by her son Dean Carlton; two daughters, Elaine Tejeda and Karin Knight; six siblings, and both of her husbands.
