Velma Ann Wells Meade, 93, of Topeka passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Aldersgate Village.
She was born in Soldier, Kansas, the daughter of William Wells and Cora Dove Wells.
She graduated from Soldier High School and attended Clark's Business School.
She worked at Supply Depot at Forbes Air Force Base during WWII, then at the State Highway Department. She retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber company after 37 ½ years of service.
She married Grant Meade. They divorced.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Meade.
Survivors are daughter, Janet (Bill) Ross, Silver Lake; grandson, Timothy Gaines Sr; great-grandson, Timothy "TJ" Gaines, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Linda Meade; grandson, Aaron (Heather) Meade; 2 great-grandsons; nieces and nephews.
