Velma Fae Dinkle, age 80, of Topeka passed away Sunday, October 13, 2019 at Brookdale Rosehill Rehabilitation Center in Shawnee, Kansas. Fae was born October 8, 1939 in Irving, Kansas the daughter of Vivien and Ollie (Miller) Soudek. She graduated from Topeka High School in 1957 and attended Washburn University. She married Daniel Dinkle February 28, 1959 in Topeka. He preceded her in death October 15, 2002. Fae had attended Lowman United Methodist Church. She worked various jobs such as the State of Kansas in the tax department, Stormont Vail Hospital in the dietary department, J.C. Penney, Bank IV and later at Price Truck Line. Fae was involved in Girl Scouts as a member and later a leader for over 30 years. She is survived by a son, Doug Dinkle of Topeka; two daughters, Diana Howe of Meriam, KS and Denise (Jim) Gamba of Shawnee, KS; a brother, Eldon Soudek of Topeka, and four grandchildren, Brent, Derik, Jason and Alyssa.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. She will lie in state Friday from noon – 8:00 p.m. with visitation from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. also at the funeral home. Entombment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Girl Scouts of NE Kansas and NW Missouri or Lowman United Methodist Church and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home. davidsonfuneral.com
