Tyler Blaylock

Jonathon "Tyler" Blaylock, 20, of Topeka, passed away on September 16, 2021 at University of Kansas Health System - St. Francis Campus.

He was born on February 22, 2001 to Johnny and Kayla (Williams) Blaylock in Dallas, Georgia.

Tyler graduated from Silver Lake High School in 2019. After graduating he attended Mid America Nazarene University and Johnson County Community College. He was an avid baseball player, catching for the Sharks Baseball Team, Silver Lake High School Baseball Team, and for Mid America Nazarene University Baseball Team.
He loved to be on the baseball field with his teammates. Tyler loved spending time with his sister and cousin any chance he got. Tyler loved to play video games, competing in online gaming tournaments. He enjoyed spending time with his Golden Retriever "Max", and playing poker with his buddies. He valued and cherished all the amazing times and memories with every one of his friends and family. He was a huge Georgia Bulldog, Atlanta Braves, and Kansas City Chiefs fan. Tyler loved life and lived it to the fullest, he was a very kind and thoughtful young man that was very humble and never spoke badly about a single person. Tyler has inspired so many young people to get vaccinated during his battle with Covid. He has continued and will continue to touch many lives.

He will be greatly missed by all of his friends and family.

Tyler is survived by his loving parents, Johnny and Kayla; Sister, Sydney Blaylock; Cousin, Brinley Smith, Uncles, Bradley Smith, Doug Alexander, and Michael Blaylock; Aunt, Tammy Smith; Grandparents, Wanda Lovell, Joannie Blaylock, Steve Blaylock, Tommy Williams, and Gary Lovell; Great Aunts, Brenda Angier and Diane Owens; and Great Uncle, Ed Angier; and a host of extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his Second Cousin, Eddie Angier; Great Uncle, Ray Porter; Great Grandfather, George Porter; and Great Grandmother, Lela Porter.

Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, September 19, 2021, 2:00 pm at the Silver Lake Baptist Church Baseball Field located at 3439 NW Hoch Rd, Silver Lake, KS 66539. The family will return home to Georgia for a second memorial service at a later date.
