Patricia Porteous
Patricia Mae "Patti" Porteous, 61, Topeka, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at her home.
Mrs. Porteous had been vice president of operations and marketing for EMI in Topeka, which was Sam Cohen's holding and real estate.
She was born Oct. 29, 1941, in Topeka, the daughter of Harry E. and Una Lucille Davis Pease. She graduated from Topeka High School and had lived in Providence, R.I., Orlando, Fla., Dayton, Ohio, and Shreveport, La., before returning to Topeka in 1986.
Mrs. Porteous was a former member of Sales and Marketing Executives of Topeka, a member of Topeka Bible Church, Career Chapter of the American Business Women's Association and she participated in tournament tennis for 10 years. She also was an annual Topeka Civic Theatre patron.
She married John J. "Jack" Porteous on May 21, 1976, in Topeka. He survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Traci Marie Porteous, Ottawa; a stepson, Kirk James Porteous, Overland Park; a stepdaughter, Sara Lynn Griffin, Overland Park; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Topeka Bible Church. Burial will be in Grantville Cemetery. Mrs. Porteous will lie in state from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at Parker-Price Mortuary, where visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
