Thomas G. Wohlgemuth SMSGT, 89, OF Topeka passed away on January 10 th , 2023. Tom was born on December 27 th , 1933 to Emil & Lottie Wohlgemuth (Wycoff) in Atchison, KS, he was the youngest of four children. In 1951, Tom enlisted with the United States Air force. He served for 20 years retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant. Throughout his military career, Tom served in both The Korean War & in Vietnam. On July 20 th , 1957 Tom married his wife of 65 years, Marilyn Lauffer. They had three daughters. Tom and his family would move and live in many places around the US and abroad during his active service.
Tom managed retired from Clark Fork Lift in the early 1990’s. In his later years, Tom owned Hole in the Wall Flea Market. For many years, Tom repaired and built race cars. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran in Topeka.
Predeceasing Tom in passing are his parents, wife Marilyn, and siblings. Survivors include his three daughters, Diana (Paul) Duke; Kathleen (Kevin) Lefebvre; and Sandra (Dave) Clement, all of Topeka. He also leaves behind six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place at Davidson Funeral Home on Friday, January 13 th , from 4-6pm. A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, January 14 th , at 10:00am. Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The American Diabetes Association.
