Thomas D. "Tom" Smith, 68, of Meriden, passed away on November 25, 2020 at University of Kansas Health System - St. Francis Campus.
He was born on April 23, 1952 to Larry and Phyllis (Frickey) Smith at Topeka, KS.
Tom "Tommy" worked as a Union Pipe Fitter Plumber for Plumbing by Carlson for 35 years. He retired as a plumber after working for 45 years.
On February 23, 1982, he married Della Smith (Flowers) in Topeka.
In his younger years he enjoyed fishing and was an avid pool player. Loved watching all sports but loved his Kansas City Chiefs, KU Basketball. Tom enjoyed bs'ing with friends and coworkers. He was a huge supporter of his grandchildren's athletic events.
He was a proud member of Plumbers Pipe Fitters Union #441.
Tom is survived by his loving Wife, Della; Children, Teresa ( Kevin) Moriarty, Rodney (Vicki) Smith, Thomas Smith, Richard Smith, Michelle (Craig) Sollars , Jason Smith, and Michael Smith; Brothers, Jody Smith, Jay Smith, David (Bernadette) Smith; and Sisters, Paula (Dave) Young and Julie Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Tom will lie in state at Parker Price Funeral Home, Tuesday, December 1, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Visitation where the family will receive guests, will be held Tuesday, December 1, 2020, 5:00 pm to 7:00 p.m. at Parker-Price Funeral Home. Funeral services will be private.
