Thomas "Lee" Jennings, 93, Topeka, formerly of Silver Lake and Dover, passed away, Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004 at Aldersgate Village.
He was born April 20, 1911, in Eskridge, KS the son of Oliver Lee and Bertha Parlee Castle Jennings.
Mr. Jennings was a member of Silver Lake United Methodist Church, he was a 60 year member of Lake Lodge #50 A.F. & A.M. of Silver Lake and Loyal Chapter #176, O.E.S. of Silver Lake. He graduated from Eskridge High School in 1929. Mr. Jennings worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company as a Calendar Operator for 31 years. He retired in 1976. He volunteered his time at Stormont-Vail Hospital and the Kansas Historical Museum. He served one term as mayor of Silver Lake.
He was preceded in death by a brother Mark E. Jennings and a sister Ethel Edgerton
He married Florence E. Maus, September 13, 1934 in Topeka, KS. She survives.
Other survivors include 3 Daughters; Mary Lee Rosen, Sun Lakes, AZ; Janie Kay Gowin Silver Lake, KS; Lu Dell Smith, Topeka; eight grandchildren; four step grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2004 at Silver Lake United Methodist Church.
