Thomas James "Tom" Harmon, 52, of Quenemo, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013.
He was born March 15, 1960 in St. Charles, MO the son of Bobby E. and Rose A. (Vitt) Harmon. He was a graduate of St. Paul High School St. Paul, KS and graduated from Pittsburgh State University School of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
Mr. Harmon was employed by Frito Lay as maintenance technician for 27 years.
He was an active member of the West Franklin community and coached softball for 25 years. He attended Michigan Valley Methodist Church.
Tom married Becky Fannin on November 15, 1980 in St. Paul, KS. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his parents of St. Paul; six children, Angela (Jessie Gonzales) Harmon, Vassar, KS, Tonya (Daniel) Forbis, Michigan Valley,KS, Tommy (Jerrica) Harmon, Pomona, KS, Bryant (Cassie) Harmon, Baldwin City, KS, Alyssa (Mark McCain) Harmon, Michigan Valley and Macayla "Oobie" Harmon of the home; eight grandchildren, Alexandria, Dawson, Morgan, Gavin, Linden, Ashton, Sophia and Mayson; four brothers, Randy, Steve, Tim and Bill Harmon; a sister, Kristi Goodman.
A funeral ceremony will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS 66608. Interment will follow at the Auburn Cemetery, Auburn, KS. Tom will lie in state after 3 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Macayla Harmon Education Fund, sent in care of Kansas State Bank in Overbrook.
