Theresa Spangler

Mrs. Theresa Rosemary Spangler, 91, of Topeka, passed away Tues., Jan. 13, 2009 at Lexington Park Nursing Home. She was born May 8, 1917 in St. Joseph, MO, the daughter of John B. O' Meara and Clyde and Evelyn Dewey.

On Oct. 1, 1949 she married the love of her life Floyd Ward Spangler in Topeka. They enjoyed traveling and never went anywhere without their beloved pets. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had been a member most of her life. She taught primary for many years. It was a calling she dearly loved and was totally committed to. She touched the lives of many young children. She is survived by a loving church family and many good friends. She was a good neighbor and a good friend. She will be missed very much.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Mon., Jan. 19, 2009 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2401 SW Kingsrow Rd, Topeka. She will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. on Sun., Jan. 18 at Penwell-Gabel Parker Price Chapel. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to service time at the church on Monday. Memorial contributions in Mrs. Spangler's name may be sent to the Church Missionary Fund in care of the funeral home.
