OBITUARY: Mrs. Theresa Josephine Davis
Mrs. Theresa Josephine Davis, 92, Silver Lake died Fri., Feb. 3, 2006, at St. Marys Manor. She was born Oct. 18, 1913, at Harris, KS the daughter of Steve and Rose (Nilges) Ferns.
She was married to John R. Davis on Nov. 28, 1932 at Emerald, KS. He preceded her in death on Sept. 21, 1979. She was also preceded in death by 2 sons: Robert E. Davis on May 7, 1987, and Fred M. Davis on Aug. 25, 1998; a brother: Joe Ferns; and a sister: Mary Hix.
Surviving are 3 sons: Charles Wm. "Bill" Davis of Garnett, Don E. Davis of Silver Lake, and Randy D. Davis of Topeka; 1 brother: Lawrence "Bud" Ferns of Roswell, NM; 3 sisters: Rose Ferns of Albuquerque, NM, Luella Buhman of Clarkson, MO, and Helen Hasler of Ottawa; 17 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Tues., Feb. 7, 2006, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Rossville. Interment will be in Silver Lake Cemetery. Mrs. Davis will lie in state after 1:00 p.m. Mon. at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and a parish rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.
