Theresa C. Jordan, 80, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at her home.
She was born August 2, 1930 in Marysville, KS, the daughter of William A. and Elizabeth M. (Bornhorst) Cohorst. She was a graduate of Seaman High School.
She was a member of Mater Dei, Assumption Church, Topeka and the Daughters of Isabella.
Theresa married her high school sweetheart, Alvin C. Jordan on August 30, 1948 in Topeka. He survives of the home. Other survivors include her children, Peggy Holmes, Joyce Stanley, Deborah (Mike) Tenpenny, Marc Jordan, Alvie Jordan, Shelley (Jim) Davis, and Matthew (Brenda) Jordan; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; two sisters, Genevieve Kelso and Beth Warner. She was preceded in death by parents, and a sister, Margaret Witham and brother, Bill Cohorst and son-in-law, Tom Holmes.
Honoring her request, Mrs. Jordan was cremated. A Daughters of Isabella Rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m., Monday, April 25, 2011 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, the family will receive friends following the rosary until 8 p.m. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Mater Dei, Assumption Church, 204 SW 8th Ave., Topeka.
