OBITUARY: Thelma Louise "Moe" Shaw
Thelma Louise "Moe" Shaw, 82, Topeka, died at her home on Fri., Oct. 19, 2007. She was born June 19, 1925, in Lawrence, to William M. and Ellen M. (Unger) Bahnmaier. She was married to Howard A. Shaw who preceded her in death as well as a son, Neal.
Moe and Howard had owned and operated a Dairy Freeze in Oakland and a Dairy Queen at Sixth and Branner. She was a member of The Red Hat Society and Arab Temple Nobelles.
Surviviors include a son, Bruce, and wife, Carol; five granddaughters, Michelle Harmon (Matt), Brenda Wilson (Rob), Sherrie Shaw, Allison Emerson (Tony) and Gretchen Arnold, all of Topeka, and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Lou Strode, Los Angeles, CA, and two brothers, Earl Bahnmaier, Lecompton, and Carl Bahnmaier, Perry, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Mon., Oct. 22, 2007, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka. Interment in Rochester Cemetery. Moe will lie in state after 1:00 PM, Sunday at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
