Thelma M. McGuire, 102, of Topeka, died on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at her home.
Thelma was born on September 28, 1911 in Topeka to Herman L. and Ethyl V. (Baker) Bleidissel. She graduated from Topeka High School in 1930.
She was married to Joseph B. McGuire on May 3, 1935 in Topeka; he preceded her in death on October 3, 1963.
Thelma is survived by two sons, Paul McGuire of Topeka and Larry (Mary Margaret) of San Simeon, CA; two grandchildren, Lori Turner and Scott McGuire; five great-grandchildren, Megan and Derek Turner, and Andrew, Erin, and Allysia McGuire; and three great-great grandchildren, Deimian, Sebastian, and Xavier Howard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, by her parents, by a sister, Rose Curtis, and by three brothers, Delbert, Paul and Lloyd Bleidissel.
Mrs. McGuire was cremated and her cremated remains will be buried next to her husband in California at a later date. Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Boys Town, 234 Monsky Drive, Boys Town, NE 68010.
