OBITUARY: Thelma C. Mills-Berry
Thelma Cecilia Mills-Berry, 80, Topeka, died Sat., July 2, 2011, at Autumn Home Plus. She was born Aug. 23, 1930, in Wamego, the daughter of Daniel and Bessie M. (Kohler) McCoy. Thelma retired from Southwestern Bell in 1992. She was married to Herman J. Mills who preceded her in death in 1958. She later married James D. Berry. Surviving are 3 daughters: Sharon Tefft, Patricia Roberts, and Janis Correll, all of Topeka; 4 sons: Robert Mills (Jackie) of Anderson, MO, Edward Mills, Michael Mills, and Steven Mills all of Topeka; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 5:00 PM, Wed., July 6, 2011, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave. Following services Thelma will be cremated with interment of cremains in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lawrence, at a later date. Thelma will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Tues., at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:30 to 8:30 PM.
