Terry Simmons

Terry was a devoted loving husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and Uncle.  He was born in Topeka, Ks on December 21, 1948 to Gerald and Frieda Simmons.  He passed quietly at Midland Hospice House, on December 6, 2023 at the age of 74.

Terry graduated from Topeka High School in 1964, and was drafted into the Army in Fort Riley, Ks, the Big Red 1, where he served in Vietnam.  He was discharged in 1968, but continued in the Army Reserve until 1974.  Terry went on to Washburn University where he graduated with a BA in Accounting.   He worked for the State of Kansas in the Department of Revenue as an Accountant and retired from there.  He married Mary Rose on September 17, 1994 at their home south of Topeka, where they lived out the remainder of their lives.  Mary preceded him in death on September 19, 2023.

Terry is survived by 2 daughters, 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.  Terry liked the KC Chiefs, Washburn Basketball, Cooking, working in the yard and spending time with his family.

He will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 3pm, Davidsons Funeral Home in Topeka.
