Teri K. Freed, age 73, of Topeka Kansas passed away Thursday afternoon, September 20, 2018. Teri was born on April 28, 1945 in Belleville, Kansas the son of Norman C. and Roberta D. (Mitchell) Freed. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1963. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1965 and served in the Vietnam War with the 171
st
Maintenance Battalion, stationed at Bien Hoa, South Vietnam in 1966-67. He was honorably discharged from the US Army in 1971. After serving in the Army, he worked mostly as a sheet metal mechanic for Midwest Sheet Metal, The Don Bell Company, and retiring after 30 years at Universal Mechanical and Electrical. Teri enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working with electronics making transistor radios from scratch and the like. During his retirement he took up drawing and painting. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, brothers, Dennis Freed and Danny Freed. Survivors include his sister Diana Martin and brother Charles Freed (Kathy) along with many loving nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Davidson Funeral Home, 1035 N. Kansas Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66608. Graveside services and military honors will be conducted at Rochester Cemetery immediately following the visitation.
