Teresa Evaughn Morris, 59, Topeka, KS, died Saturday, April 9, 2016, at her home. She was born September 12, 1956, in Madisonville, KY, the daughter of James O. and Pauline (Vickers) Harris.
She had worked for the Kentucky State Police, City of Topeka Police Department, and the Y.W.C.A.
Teresa was married to James Wallace Morris, Jr. on June 8, 1973, in Madisonville, KY.
Surviving are her husband: James Wallace Morris, Jr. of the home; three children: Chris Jordan Morris of Topeka, Ashley RaeAnn Morris of Salina, and Tracey Michelle Morris of Topeka; siblings: Carolyn Sue Mullennix of Madisonville, Jimmy D. Weaver of Madisonville, Raymond Ray Harris of Madisonville, Stanley Dale Harris of Nebo, KY, Jerome David Harris of Belmont, KY, John Tracy Harris of Madisonville, and Steven Wayne Harris of Central City, KY; and three grandchildren: Caden Jordan Morris, Mya Kailyn Morris, and Addison Morgan Morris all of Topeka.
Teresa was preceded in death by her parents; three children: James Allen Morris, Stephanie Danielle Morris, and Jarod Heath Morris; and a sister: Charlene Wallace.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Thursday, April 14, 2016, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka. Interment will be in Rochester Cemetery, 1200 NW Menninger Road, Topeka
.
Teresa will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Wednesday, at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:30 PM.
